Online Gaming Rediscovered

online-gaming-rediscovered

It’s been about six months since I’ve played Halo 3 with my friends.  All this video editing I’ve been doing had brought back tear-jerking memories of what once was our divine moment.  We used to game for hours every night undisturbed until we realized the light coming through our windows was not that of the cops coming to break up the screams and laughter, but the sun infiltrating our rooms heralding a new day of possibilities.  Only then would we sign off and go to bed, waking up a few hours later to continue with the rest of our lives as zombies.  That is, until 11:00pm when we meet up again on Xbox Live via a “series of tubes.”

It looks as though people combust when you crash into them.

We gamed last night, and we won two out of six matches.  It seemed as if everyone we met online in Halo 3 were much more high-ranked than we were.  I guess that’s what six months away from online gaming will do.  A few of us were rusty last night, but we were able to maintain a competitive score against our opponents.  And when we lost, it was always by a few points.  What that most likely reveals is that, given enough practice, our days of pwning 13 year-old assholes on Halo 3 can be revived.
